Latest Update: 20th April 2021

Recent guidance has enabled the Club to recommence sailing and racing. We will provide updates on upcoming dates and procedures for getting back out onto the water shortly. A few of the key questions are answered below.

When can club racing restart?

Racing / competition can restart from 23rd April but is limited to a total of 100 (inclusive of race management, personnel etc). Clubs looking to start racing must do so with suitable entry systems in place to enable this restriction on numbers.

Will it be possible for people from different households to sail together in the same dinghy, keelboat or yacht and is there a limit on the numbers onboard?

Yes, from 23rd April, provided this activity is organised by the Club and follows National Governing Body (RYA) guidance. Refer to document in the link below.

Can open days/ regattas proceed?

Yes, where it meets the requirement of limiting the event to a total of 100 participants inclusive of race management.

Will vaccination be considered a form of mitigation?

SportNI has outlined: No – mitigations are focused on methods to minimise risk of transfer of infection – masks, distancing, hand sanitation, limiting face to face etc.

Is the Clubhouse Open?

No. The Clubhouse may only be used for individual use of the toilet facilities.
