Sailing Taster Sessions

Discover the joy of sailing with a Taster Session at Lough Neagh Sailing Club with taster sessions.

Dinghy sessions last approx. 1.5hrs and keelboat sessions last approx. 3 hrs.
Suitable for ages 8+. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer disability sailing due to a lack of resources.

Discover sailing in the fun, safe and family-friendly environment of Lough Neagh Sailing Club. Taster sessions will introduce you to the sailing on Lough Neagh and provide an opportunity to get out on the water with suitably qualified instructors. We provide the necessary equipment and provide a fun and safe introduction to the sport of sailing.

Once you have registered we will contact you to arrange a group session. This may be a weeknight or a Saturday. Once you arrive at the Sailing Club you will be greeted by your instructor who will take care of everything for you. Buoyancy aids will be provided and you will be guided through your taster session. Dinghy sessions last about 1 hour with keelboat sessions lasting approximately 2 hrs. Afterward, you will be welcome to join us for refreshments (regulations permitting).

What should I bring

For sailing taster sessions you will need a pair of trainers that you do not mind getting wet. You will be issued a buoyancy aid. Dress appropriately for the conditions with a warm coat and hat or sunscreen – whatever the weather offers!

For Dinghy Sailing wet suits are normally worn but for the taster session, normal clothes will suffice. You could bring a change of clothes but this should not be required.
